Requests, Coverage and Installation

What appliances can I submit for repair?

Requests can be submitted for major household appliances including washers, electric and gas dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, microwaves, electric and gas ovens, stoves, ranges, cooktops, range hoods and other major household appliance problems. Gas appliance requests and refrigerator or freezer cooling-system concerns are also accepted.

What if my city is not on the Service Areas page?

Submit the request anyway. The 21 featured service areas cover the main GTA areas, but nearby and unlisted cities can still be reviewed based on the actual address and contractor availability. Enter the exact city and postal code so the request can be matched as accurately as possible.

What if my appliance brand is not listed?

Select Other / not listed and enter the brand in the problem details. The dedicated brand pages highlight featured brands, not a complete list of every brand that may be reviewed. Most major household appliance brands can be submitted.

Does submitting the form guarantee an appointment?

No. The appliance details, location, job requirements and contractor availability are all reviewed before an appointment is confirmed. A participating contractor who can cover the request will contact you about next steps, scheduling and service terms.

Can I request appliance installation?

Yes. Submit the appliance type, brand, model, address, existing connection details and photos of the installation space. Installation availability depends on the appliance, property conditions, existing connections and contractor qualifications required for the work. Gas appliance installation requests must be matched to a contractor with the appropriate qualifications.

Safety, Gas and Cooling-System Questions

Can I submit a request for an urgent appliance problem?

Yes. Urgent appliance problems can be submitted at any time. Note in the request that the issue is urgent and include your preferred contact time. Response depends on contractor availability for your area and appliance type. For a suspected active gas leak, do not wait for a website response. Leave the area immediately and contact 911 or your gas utility from a safe location.

Should I stop using the appliance before the repair visit?

It depends on the problem. If the appliance is showing smoke, sparking, a burning smell, water near electrical components or repeated breaker trips, disconnect it from power or water if it is safe to do so and do not use it until it is assessed. For less urgent problems, describe what is happening in the form and the contractor can advise on next steps.

Can I submit a gas appliance repair request?

Yes. Gas dryers, ovens, ranges, stoves and cooktops can be submitted for repair or installation review. Always identify the appliance as gas-powered and describe the specific symptoms so the request can be matched to a contractor with the qualifications required for that type of work.

Can I request refrigerator or freezer compressor repair?

Yes. Compressor, refrigerant and sealed-system concerns can be submitted for diagnosis and repair review. The final repair scope depends on the diagnosis findings, appliance model, parts availability and the participating contractor. The repair scope normally cannot be confirmed until the appliance and diagnosis findings have been reviewed.

What should I do if I smell gas near an appliance?

Do not use the appliance or any electrical switches. Leave the area immediately and contact 911 or your gas utility from a safe location outside the building. Do not wait for a website response. A suspected active natural gas leak is an emergency and should be treated as one.

Request Details and Property Access

Should I upload photos?

Photos are optional but genuinely useful. A photo of the model label, error code display, frost buildup, visible leak, stacked laundry setup, built-in installation or tight access space can help the reviewing contractor understand the job before contacting you. The form accepts multiple photos with a 5 MB limit per image.

What should I include for a condo or rental property?

Include elevator booking requirements, visitor parking or loading instructions, concierge or security check-in procedures, and building service-hour restrictions. For rental properties, clarify who will provide access and who has authority to authorize the repair work.

Can I upload a video of the appliance problem?

The form accepts photos. If a short video would help explain the issue, note in the description what it would show, such as a noise during the spin cycle or an intermittent error code, and ask the contractor whether they would like additional media sent directly after contact.

What if the appliance has already been looked at by someone else?

Include any prior diagnosis or repair attempt in the description. Note what was done, whether any parts were replaced and whether the problem changed after the previous work. That history helps the reviewing contractor understand where things stand.

Can a landlord or property manager submit a request on behalf of a tenant?

Yes. Include whether you are the property owner, landlord or manager, and clarify who will be present for the visit and who can authorize the repair. Contractors may need to confirm authorization details before scheduling the appointment.

Scheduling, Pricing and Contractor Review

Can I get an exact repair price from the form?

Not reliably. Appliance repair cost depends on what is found during diagnosis, which part or component has failed, parts availability, the labour required and any access conditions. An exact quote often depends on diagnosis, the parts required and the repair scope. Any applicable visit or diagnostic terms should be explained by the contractor before they attend.

Who performs the appliance repair?

Requests may be shared with one or more participating independent appliance repair contractors based on the location, appliance type, job requirements and availability. Independent contractors are not employees of Appliance Repair GTA. The contractor who accepts the request handles diagnosis, scheduling, pricing and service terms directly with the customer.

Do you offer same-day appliance repair?

Yes. Same-day appliance repair appointments are available for many requests across the service area, subject to technician availability, the appliance problem, access conditions and parts requirements. Submit the request as early as possible and include your preferred timing so availability can be confirmed.

Are the appliance repair technicians certified and insured?

Yes. Repair work arranged through the current service offering is handled by certified and insured appliance repair technicians. Specialized or regulated work is matched according to the qualifications required for that job.

Do appliance repairs include a parts and labour warranty?

Yes. Completed repairs include parts and labour warranty coverage under the applicable repair terms. The technician or contractor should explain the warranty period, covered repair and any exclusions that apply to the specific job.

How quickly will someone contact me?

Include your preferred contact time and timing needs in the form. Same-day appointments are available for many requests, subject to technician availability for your area and the specific job. Exact response and appointment timing are confirmed after the request is reviewed.

Is the online form available outside of business hours?

The request form is available around the clock. Response and scheduling depend on contractor availability. Include your preferred contact time and any timing constraints in the request so the contractor has that context when following up.

What if the repair cannot be completed on the first visit?

Parts availability, the complexity of the repair and access requirements can sometimes mean more than one visit is needed. The contractor is responsible for explaining the situation, any additional scope and next steps directly with you before further work is authorized.

Service Categories

Can I request heating or cooling work through the same form?

Yes. Choose Heating & Cooling, then select the closest service such as AC repair, AC installation or replacement, furnace repair, furnace installation or replacement, heat-pump repair, or heat-pump installation or replacement. Add the equipment type, symptoms, property details and access information you know.

Can I request water-heater or tankless service?

Yes. Choose Water Heating and select conventional water-heater or tankless repair, installation or replacement. Include the current equipment type, fuel or energy source when known, what is happening, and the location of the unit.

What if I am not sure which category to choose?

Choose Other / Not Sure and describe the equipment and the work you need. A precise diagnosis is not required before submitting a request.

Installation Requests

What details help with an installation request?

Include the new equipment or appliance, existing connections, fuel type when relevant, dimensions or model number if known, stairs or tight access, condo requirements, and whether old equipment must be disconnected or moved. Final scope is confirmed during contractor review.

Gas and Safety

What should I do if I suspect an active gas leak?

Leave the area and avoid switches, flames or anything that could create a spark. From a safe location, call 911 or your gas utility emergency line. Do not use the website request form as the first response to an active gas-leak emergency.

Appointments and Review

Does submitting a heating, cooling or water-heating request confirm an appointment?

No. Submitting the form starts the review process. Availability, scope, pricing, regulated-work requirements and appointment details are confirmed with the participating contractor.
